LG Electronics said in a September 7 clarification filing that Bear Robotics, its overseas subsidiary, has made no decision regarding an overseas listing. LG said it would issue another disclosure when specific details are finalized or within one month; the filing identifies October 6 as the expected re-disclosure date. That is the current primary record for the listing question.[1]

The filing follows reports that Bear Robotics was sounding out domestic and overseas institutional investors for a pre-IPO round. Hankyung reported a 300–400 billion won target, a valuation discussion near 2 trillion won and Bank of America as the arranging bank. Those are reported plans, not a completed financing or approved listing.[2]

What is confirmed—and what is not

The decision delta is therefore narrower than the headline funding number. LG has confirmed that the overseas listing is undecided; it has not confirmed that investor discussions do not exist. The public record does not establish a closed round, a final valuation, a signed underwriter mandate, a filing date or a Nasdaq timetable. Calling Bear Robotics Nasdaq-bound would outrun the disclosure.[1,2]

LG’s own 2025 announcement confirms the strategic context: it took control of Bear Robotics after an initial $60 million investment and planned to integrate the commercial-robot businesses. Bear’s serving robots are the established base; its push toward industrial autonomous mobile robots and physical AI is the expansion case that the reported capital would support. Neither point turns a reported financing process into a transaction.[3]

The next useful checkpoint is LG’s promised re-disclosure, or a primary filing that names the financing terms. Until then, the defensible signal is that Bear Robotics may be exploring capital ahead of a possible listing, while its controlling shareholder says no overseas listing has been decided. That distinction matters because valuation, dilution and public-market access remain open questions, not operating facts.[1,2,3]
